After evaluating previous experiences during the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays, and listening to the opinions of residents and traders, the zone will be active from January 29 to February 4, between 12:00 and 19:00.
This pedestrian zone covers the area between Rua de Fernão Mendes Pinto and Rua Governador Tamagnini Barbosa, including sections such as Calçada do Quartel and Avenida de Carlos da Maia.
To facilitate traffic, measures will be implemented such as reversing directions on some roads, banning parking in certain places, and creating temporary stops for public transport.
In addition, seven-seater shuttles will be made available for residents with mobility difficulties, in collaboration with local associations.
The pedestrian zone will not only be functional, but also festive.
A special bazaar will take place daily from 1pm to 6pm in the Rua de Fernão Mendes Pinto parking lot, accompanied by cultural shows and check-in points that promise to liven up the atmosphere.
These activities aim to enrich the experience of residents and tourists by promoting a safe and organized environment.
Authorities such as DSAT, CPSP and MGTO will be on site to coordinate measures, disseminate information and maintain public order.
The Macao Government Tourism Office will also invest in online promotions, including short videos and partnerships with digital influencers to increase the visibility of the event and reinforce Macau as a welcoming destination.
This interdepartmental collaboration with local associations reflects the commitment to offering a remarkable Lunar New Year experience for everyone.
