Norway, Sweden and Finland are advising their inhabitants to prepare to deal with the eventuality of a war or other unexpected crises, the BBC reports. Norwegian and Finnish civil protection recently distributed pamphlets with recommendations and, this Monday, millions of Swedes will begin receiving copies of a pamphlet that guides the population on how to prepare and cope in the event of war or other crises.
The “If crisis or war comes” pamphlets have been updated and are now twice the size of the warnings published six years ago. The Swedish Minister of Civil Defense had already warned that the world is different and war could come to the country. Therefore, the information has been updated in case of a crisis or war in Sweden.
One of the most important recommendations is to have enough food and drinking water for at least three days. The food list includes potatoes, cabbage, carrots, eggs, cans of Bolognese sauce and blueberry and rosehip soups. Another message that stands out in the new pamphlets is that Sweden will never surrender if attacked by another country. “If Sweden is attacked by another country, we will never give up. All information that resistance must cease is false,” the leaflets say.
