The Kremlin issued a sharp rebuke on Monday regarding Britain’s decision to share classified technical details with Ukraine on British-made components for long-range cruise missiles, warning that the move will only escalate the conflict, according to Reuters.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow views the technical support extremely negatively, accusing London of actively fueling hostilities and impeding diplomatic efforts. The comments followed British Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s arrival in Kyiv on his first international trip since taking office, where he was set to announce enhanced support to boost Ukraine’s domestic manufacturing of long-range strike capabilities.

According to Peskov, the Russian military is systematically gathering intelligence to pinpoint the locations of missile production facilities inside Ukraine in order to target and destroy them. He reiterated Moscow’s position that British assistance directly aligns London with the Ukrainian government in the ongoing war.

The exchange comes shortly after Moscow warned London of potential consequences over the supply of long-range drones, following reports that British-manufactured unmanned aircraft had been utilized in strikes deep inside Russian territory. Prime Minister Burnham previously defended the military aid, maintaining that Britain remains fully committed to supporting Ukraine’s defense.
