British Prime Minister Andy Burnham reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s firm backing for Ukraine during his inaugural official visit to Kyiv, declaring that London will continue to press Moscow to end its ongoing aggression, says the BBC.
The high-level visit coincided with Ukraine’s 35th Independence Day and was marked by a major announcement regarding defense cooperation. Burnham revealed that the UK will provide technical blueprints allowing Ukrainian manufacturers to produce localized versions of Britain’s long-range Scalp cruise missile, a strategic move praised by defense experts as a critical step toward boosting Ukraine’s self-reliance in military hardware.

Speaking at a meeting with international allies, the Prime Minister emphasized that military pressures are increasingly limiting Moscow’s strategic choices.
