As a sponsor of the International Film Camp, Sands China is committed to nurturing filmmaking talent in Macao and the broader Asian region, contributing to the development of Macao as a “City of Performing Arts.”

Their vision is to leverage the presence of renowned Asian filmmakers in Macao to encourage filming in the city, thereby enhancing its international reputation and driving the synergistic growth of the filmmaking and peripheral industries. These efforts align with the Macao SAR government’s “tourism+” and “culture+” policies.

The International Film Camp will feature esteemed guest speakers and mentors, including Roger Garcia, Mentor and Advisor at the Asian Film Awards Academy and International Film Camp. Garcia expressed his excitement, and stated: “With the International Film Camp, we have created a comprehensive process that encompasses development, planning, production funding, and exhibition. Our goal is to inspire young Asian filmmakers and guide them towards realizing their visions and ambitions.”

Mabel Cheung, Chief Mentor of the camp, hopes to identify participants with independent thinking, creativity, responsibility, ambition, and above all, perseverance. Cheung emphasized that perseverance is crucial for transforming dreams into reality.

Guest speakers and local directors Hong Heng Fai and Choi Ian Sin are eager to engage in sincere exchanges and thought-provoking discussions during the International Film Camp.

Hong Heng Fai said: “I am looking forward to exploring different perspectives on the world and the transformative power of film.” Choi Ian Sin added, “I am thrilled to witness the convergence of young filmmakers from around the world in Macao, where they will share their unique visions and ignite creativity.”

The International Film Camp promises to be an extraordinary and transformative experience for emerging filmmakers. Sands China remains dedicated to empowering the next generation of talent and driving the growth of Macao’s creative industry.
