Artificial Intelligence: “Unrealistic body images can lead to greater body dissatisfaction”

With the thousands of images that run on the internet, obtained through artificial intelligence, Delas.pt sought to know the dangers associated with the expectations developed around an unrealistic photograph.

In recent days, the internet has been flooded with photographs created by artificial intelligence (AI). A simple mobile application has emerged to show people what the future could be like: how they will look when they are engaged, pregnant or what the children they may have will be like.

At an early stage, those images, obtained through AI, may be funny and apparently harmless, but what will be the long-term repercussions?

Sofia Marques Ramalho, psychologist specialist in Clinical and Health and assistant professor at the Lusíada University of Porto, does not doubt that continued exposure to this type of unrealistic photographs can lead to psychological problems.
