“Do we really still think happiness has a size?” Georgina fires back at body shamers with bikini photos

Rodríguez, who is mother to six children including three daughters, said she and Ronaldo are intentional about teaching their kids that "a person's worth can never depend on their physical appearance or the opinions of strangers." She added, "That little dose of positive psychology that I try to give them every day also helps me stay on track in this world of so much fantasy"

Cristiano Ronaldo’s fiancée, Georgina Rodríguez, took to social media this week to push back against critics who had commented negatively on her physique, sharing her own photos in a white bikini alongside a lengthy, candid message about self-worth.

The 32-year-old model and influencer posted her response on Instagram on August 4, after paparazzi captured photos of her in a black bikini while on vacation, sparking a wave of online commentary.

“My body will change, as all women’s bodies do,” Rodríguez wrote. “And I hope it continues to do so for many years, because that will mean I’m still alive.”

Rodríguez, who is mother to six children including three daughters, said she and Ronaldo are intentional about teaching their kids that “a person’s worth can never depend on their physical appearance or the opinions of strangers.” She added, “That little dose of positive psychology that I try to give them every day also helps me stay on track in this world of so much fantasy.”

Addressing the recent wave of paparazzi photos directly, she acknowledged seeing “all kinds of comments” about her body over the past few days. “Some people are commenting on my body, others are defending me,” she wrote.

In the post, Rodríguez also revealed a private conversation she’d had with Ronaldo about the criticism. “I was talking about it with Cris and I told him, ‘I’m worried that they’re calling me fat now, because I make a living from my image,'” she recalled. She said he responded, “You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a great body, a mother, a good person, successful, and who lives life with love. What more could you want?”

She went on to question the broader culture around body shaming. “The funny thing is, this happens every summer. Every year my body makes the news again. And then I wonder… where is the standard? Who decides what the ‘right’ body is?” she asked. “Do we really still think happiness has a size?”

Rodríguez said she values the “peace of mind” and health benefits that come from staying active, clarifying that her fitness goals have never centered on weight loss. “I love my curves. I love the freedom to live in the body I choose. In the body that supports me, that has allowed me to embrace, create life, fall, and get back up,” she wrote. “A body that deserves respect, love, and gratitude in all its versions.”

She closed the post with a broader reflection on what success means to her: “For me, true success has never been about fitting into a standard that no one knows who invented. True success is living in peace. Surrounding myself with the people I love. Enjoying my family and friends. Taking care of my health. Laughing. Learning. Living.”

Ronaldo himself commented on the post with a simple show of support, writing “My love”.

The post clearly struck a chord with followers, drawing more than 3.8 million likes within just 11 hours of being shared.
