Shortly after the news of Tina Turner’s death on Wednesday, candles and flowers began to pile up outside the American singer’s home in Switzerland, where the queen of rock has lived for the last few decades.
A crowd gathered in front of the property’s iron gate. “You’re simply the best”, could be read in one of the messages that were among the many bouquets of flowers and candles. “I’m in shock,” said Slovenian Miran Znider, 48, who lives in the area, hiding his emotion. “I didn’t expect it to happen so soon.” He said he decided to go there “because she is the queen, the queen of all women”. “I love Tina”, declared Znider, one of the many fans of the singer who paid tribute to her.
Considered one of the most famous artists in the world, the 83-year-old queen of rock lived for almost 30 years in a luxury property in Küsnacht, on the shores of Lake Zurich.
