American rapper Kanye West, now known as Ye, will return to Portugal this year, twenty years after his first performance in the country, for a concert at the Algarve Stadium in August, the promoter announced today.

“Kanye West comes to Portugal with BOL for a unique concert on August 7 at the Algarve Stadium. One of the most influential names in contemporary music returns 15 years after his last performance, promising a show worthy of his artistic and cultural legacy,” reads a statement released today by Bilheteira Online (BOL), which is also promoting the concert.

Tickets for the event, with prices yet to be announced, will go on sale on March 26.

Before that, a pre-sale will be held on March 24 for those who sign up on the BOL official website, www.bol.pt.

Kanye West, who has become “an unmissable figure in global music, responsible for redefining the boundaries of hip hop, music production, and pop culture,” first performed in Portugal in 2006 at the Cool Jazz Fest in Oeiras and returned in 2011 for a concert at the Sudoeste festival in Zambujeira do Mar.

The Algarve Stadium concert in Loulé this year is part of the musician’s world tour, with multiple European dates, following the release of his new album, Bully, set for March 27.

As a musician and producer, Kanye West, who changed his stage name to Ye in October 2021, released his debut album, The College Dropout, in 2004.

“Over more than two decades, he has built a discography marked by innovation, impact, and constant reinvention, with albums that span generations and continue to influence artists worldwide,” the BOL statement recalled.

With Late Registration (2005), Graduation (2007), and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2011), he won the Grammy for Best Rap Album, along with other awards in categories like Best Rap Song for tracks such as “All of the Lights” (with Rihanna and Kid Cudi), “Good Life” (with T-Pain), and “Ni**as in Paris” (with Jay-Z).

In 2019, he released a gospel album, Jesus is King.
