RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has reached an agreement on personal terms with Real Madrid after Paris Saint-Germain stepped back from pursuing the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international.
Diomande had previously drawn interest from Liverpool, whose opening €80 million bid was turned down in June before the club shifted its attention elsewhere, as well as from PSG, who had reportedly seen a final offer of €119 million rejected as recently as Sunday rather than escalate a bidding war with Madrid.
Real Madrid’s agreement with the player is said to be structured similarly to Jude Bellingham’s contract, built around performance incentives that increase in value year over year. The Spanish club is expected to pay in excess of €100 million (possibly reaching €120 million) for Diomande, who joined Leipzig from Spain’s Leganés last summer on a five-year deal.

According to sources close to Real Madrid, key figures in the negotiations, Jose Ángel and Juni Calafat, have been tracking Diomande for roughly five years and weren’t simply reacting to his standout performances at this summer’s World Cup.
Leipzig had pushed hard to keep the winger in Germany, but club officials reportedly view the level of interest from Europe’s top clubs as exceptional, making it difficult to turn down both the approach and the potentially record-breaking fee on offer.
Diomande was named the Bundesliga’s Young Player of the Season for 2025-26 after contributing 12 goals and eight assists last season. He moved from his native Ivory Coast to a U.S. academy in 2025 before signing with Leganés in Spain.
