China is going to drop the latest health security measure for all visitors who intend to visit the country.
Starting next Saturday, the 29th, only children will not have to present a negative test for covid-19, a requirement that remains for travelers from various nations.
Not so, and despite having completed two PCR tests, the Chinese Government advised to carry out an antigen test 48 hours after shipment.
“The objective is to further facilitate the exchange between China and the rest of the world”, explained Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Business of China.
Last March, the embassies of the Asian country in various countries, including Portugal, have announced a measure.
China applied a rigorous policy of ‘zero cases’ of covid-19 for almost three years, which implied the total closure of the borders.
Only Chinese citizens and a small number of foreigners could enter the country, provided they fulfilled a minimum period of 14 days of quarantine in designated facilities.
The country began to dismantle the strategy at the end of 2022, after protests were held in several cities.
