The three-day event “Let’s Enjoy – Market with Spotlight on Products from the Portuguese-speaking World and Macao” (Hengqin) ended successfully on 12th.
The event attracted the participation of about 35,000 people, and 65 exchanges of contacts were co-ordinated among the buying enterprises, covering such areas as import and export trade, food and beverage, catering, wine selling, and others. The live broadcasting sessions with sales and their repetition registered around 20,000 viewers. Exhibitors from Macao and Hengqin acknowledged the effectiveness of the event, which helped to expand the Mainland China market, boost economic and trade exchanges between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and promote development between Hengqin and Macao.
Exhibitors acknowledged the effectiveness of the event through the combination of Sino-Lusophone elements
Several exhibitors from Macao and Hengqin acknowledged the effectiveness of the event, noting that the event was the first time in Hengqin, which helps to increase the visibility of Portuguese-speaking and Macao products in Mainland China. The organiser also coordinated networking events for delegations of business buyers from the Greater Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Bay Area, and organised live broadcasting sessions with product presentations and sales by internet influencers, which helps enterprises to explore the Mainland market, deepen economic and trade exchange between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and promote the development of Hengqin.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, there were also raffle sessions, which were conditional on the consumption of a certain amount, thus contributing to stimulate the consumers’ will to buy. The sales during the three days were satisfactory and the overall results exceeded expectations.
Residents of Hengqin and Macao deepened their understanding of Sino-Lusophone culture
Several Macao and Hengqin residents said that the event, held in a shopping complex with Portuguese architectural style and accompanied with a variety of elements such as sales, shows and games, not only attracted the flow of people but also offered participants a deeper experience of Chinese and Portuguese cultures.
Playing the role of a platform to explore business opportunities and develop Hengqin
The “Let’s Enjoy” event, co-organized by the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao Deepening Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, was attended by 26 small and medium-sized enterprises from Macao and Hengqin, which exhibited the characteristic products of Portuguese-speaking countries and Macao.
During the event, various performances of Lusophone music and dance, enchanting dance of Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, innovative national style magic show, as well as small games, art workshops and various fun check-in installations, among others, were also held, fully demonstrating the charm and connotation of the fusion of Chinese and Portuguese cultures.
In the future, IPIM will continue to promote economic and trade co-operation between China, Portuguese-speaking Countries and Macao through various forms and channels, and develop together with Hengqin, assisting enterprises in exploring business opportunities.
