Newly released body camera footage documents an escalating confrontation between a University of Central Florida student and campus police officers that resulted in the student being subdued and arrested.

The video footage, recorded in February 2025 and made public by a law enforcement channel, captures 27-year-old student Jarrett Vick approaching a university officer who had responded to an unrelated call inside a campus building. The interaction immediately became tense as Vick verbally confronted the officer, shouting, “Why do you let those pigs get away with this? They are not supposed to be here.”

As the officer instructed Vick to lower his voice to avoid detainment, Vick reacted confrontationally, demanding, “F–king try it. Are you threatening me? You’re threatening me,” prompting the officer to request immediate backup over his radio, NY Post reports.

Observing the reaction, the officer noted, “He is having a breakdown,” which led Vick to shout back, “She! She! Just say the right pronoun!”

When efforts to de-escalate failed and the confrontation intensified, the officer deployed pepper spray. A university staff member attempted to intervene to calm the situation, but Vick continued shouting, “Get away! F–k you! F–k you, cop!”

Throughout the interaction, Vick repeatedly demanded that the officer use preferred pronouns, exclaiming “She!” while stomping his foot, and asking the university employee to “please just tell them to use the right pronouns” because the situation was causing “a lot of distress.”

According to operational reports accompanying the footage, officers deployed a Taser after Vick attempted to kick and swing at the arresting officers. Vick was eventually restrained in handcuffs and placed in the back of a patrol car.

Following the public release of the footage, Vick stated that he was being “f–king harassed by the cops,” and accused authorities of causing him to be “being harassed by the media.”

Court records from Orange County indicate that Vick, a resident of Treasure Island, Florida, was charged with battery on law enforcement, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct following the February 2025 incident. Legal filings show Vick entered pleas of not guilty to all three counts, with county records listing the cases as closed.
