Exports of goods from Portuguese-speaking countries to Macau, in the first ten months of the year, rose 45.9%, compared to the same period in 2021, according to official data released today.
The value exported by Portuguese-speaking countries to the Chinese special administrative region between January and October this year was 838 million patacas (about 100 million euros), according to a statement from the Directorate of Statistics and Census Services (DSEC ).
The amount of goods imported from Macau by the Portuguese-speaking bloc fell 74.2% year-on-year, amounting to two million patacas (239,000 euros).
The October trade balance registered a deficit of 11.5 billion patacas (1.3 billion euros), said DSEC.
Between January and October of this year, export values reached 11.2 billion patacas (1.3 billion euros), that is, 5.1% more than in the same period last year, and the value of Imports of goods reached 115 billion patacas (13.7 billion euros), down 6.9% year-on-year.
The trade balance deficit in the first ten months of 2022 amounted to 103.7 billion patacas (12.4 billion euros), less 9.1 billion patacas (about one billion euros) compared to the period last year’s counterpart, added DSEC.
