Six grain freighters left Ukrainian ports

The ships will use the safe humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea, a route that has already allowed the export of 9.7 million tons of cereals and other agricultural products from Ukraine, despite the war, thanks to the international agreement signed in July, under the aegis of the Turkey and the UN.

According to the Turkish Defense Ministry, quoted by the official Turkish news agency, 426 ships have crossed this safe route since 1 August.

On Wednesday, Russia resumed participation in the Ukrainian cereal export agreement, after indicating that it had received “written guarantees” from Ukraine about the demilitarization of that maritime corridor.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the defense and foreign ministers of Turkey, the country that guarantees the grain business, which is crucial for the world’s food supply, especially in Africa and the Middle East, have been working to overcome Russian objections.
