Theatro Circo’s summer cycle brings Letrux and Fatoumata Diawara to Braga

The cycle of Theatro Circo‘s Ice Cream Machine will take to Braga the Brazilian Letrux, the Fogo Fogo group, the Malian Fatoumata Diawara and the Luso-Angolan Pongo, announced this Wednesday.

The concerts will take place in August, always on Fridays: Letrux on the 5th, Fogo Fogo on the 12th, Fatoumata Diawara on the 19th, and Pongo on the 26th.

Writer, singer, songwriter and actress, the Brazilian Letícia Novaes will present the most recent “Aos Prantos”, having also scheduled stops in Lisbon (Samambaia on July 16, Musicbox on July 28 and 30), Madeira (Festival Concertos L on July 20), Festival Músicas do Mundo in Sines (July 27), Coimbra (Salão Brazil, July 29) and Porto (Hard Club on July 31).

Fogo Fogo are a Portuguese, Lusophone quintet, born in Lisbon’s Casa Independente, where they played monthly concerts playing funaná and paying homage to artists from Cape Verde.

“Born in Mali, singer, composer, guitarist and actress Fatoumata Diawara passes through Portugal to present her second solo album, ‘Fenfo’. Having played with some of the biggest names in contemporary music, such as Bobby Womack, Herbie Hancock, Roberto Fonseca, Amadou & Mariam, Oumou Sangaré, Toumani Diabaté, Flea and many others, Diawara recently performed at Carnegie Hall alongside David Crosby, Chris Thile, Snarky Puppy,” the Theatro Circo statement reads.
