Mozambique/Cyclones: EU concerned about families who remain in a vulnerable situation

The European Union (EU) ambassador to Mozambique warned in an interview to Lusa about the vulnerability of families that have not yet managed to rebuild their homes, after cyclone Idai passed through the center of the country in March 2019.

“Our concern is with those families that are still in temporary places and resettlement zones. This must be our priority ”, declared António Sanchez-Benedito, after a visit to the central region of the country.

Idai caused 604 deaths and affected some 1.8 million people in some way.
