A meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and European leaders should have taken place in June but was postponed to September because of the coronavirus. Now, it will be remotely and reduced in size.
It was supposed to be a mega-summit in Leipzig, one of the events that would mark the German presidency of the European Union, but the meeting between the leaders of the 27 and the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, turned into a video call that will include only this Monday head of state of the Asian giant, Chancellor Angela Merkel, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the president of the European Council, Charles Michel.
