The earthquake that struck Colombia this morning was also felt in parts of Venezuela, a country still recovering from the twin earthquakes that hit on June 24.
Venezuela’s government is currently assessing the situation in the western border states of Táchira and Zulia, according to a local governor.

Freddy Bernal, governor of Táchira, said on social media that Civil Protection teams are conducting assessments and gathering reports on infrastructure across the state, adding that no serious issues have been identified so far and, most importantly, no casualties have been reported.
Bernal said emergency response agencies have been deployed and that Civil Protection plans are currently active, urging residents to remain calm and coordinated.
