The war waged by the United States of America against global terrorism is estimated to have displaced about 59 million people since 2001, after the attack, claimed by Al Qaeda, to the World Trade Center and Pentagon on September 11 of that year.

The report “Creating Refugees: Displacement Caused by the United States Post-9/11 Wars”, further shows that the number of refugees increased sharply in 2019.
