The new version of the film Mulan was again the target of boycott calls, after viewers detected thanks in the final credits to various government agencies in Xinjiang, a Chinese region accused of human rights violations.
After the premiere of the Disney film, this weekend, activists denounced references to eight organizations linked to the Xinjiang authorities, who are in charge of a indoctrination program of more than one million Muslims, detained in re-education camps, where there are reports of physical abuse and forced labor.
Among the organizations is the department of public security in the city of Turfán or the propaganda department of the Chinese Communist Party in the region.
