The Spanish League rejects the “decontextualized and distant interpretation of the literalness of the contract”
Argentine footballer Lionel Messi sent this Friday, through his father and agent, Jorge Messi, a letter to the Spanish League, in which he makes public the clause of the contract that allows him to disengage without paying compensation to FC Barcelona.
“As the clause of the contract signed between the club and the player literally points out, this indemnity (the 700 million of the termination clause) will not apply when the termination of the contract by unilateral decision of the player takes effect from the end of the 2019/20 sports season ”, Can be read in the letter from the Argentine’s emissary, addressed to the president of the League, Javier Tebas.
