Portuguese MP finds out whether Pedro Passos Coelho was benefited by financial contributions from the target structure of Lava Jato and if the ex-prime minister’s code name was “Prince”
The Public Prosecutor of Portugal is investigating whether Odebrecht has made an unofficial transfer of around 880 thousand euros (R $ 5.8 million), for the electoral campaign of former Portuguese Prime Minister Pedro Passos Coelho (PSD , center-right), in 2015.
The authorities investigate whether the former prime minister, code-named “Prince”, appears in one of the construction company’s famous spreadsheets. The prosecutors’ suspicion is that Brazilian publicist André Gustavo Vieira, who worked for the Social Democratic Party, was paid by Odebrecht for services provided in the 2015 campaign.
