French league opening game postponed. Villas-Boas Marseille with 4 cases of Covid-19

Contrary to expectations, the Vélodrome stadium will not host the opening game of the 2020/2021 season in France, scheduled for Friday at 7 pm.

The meeting between Marseille and Saint-Étienne for the opening day of the French football league was postponed after four positive cases of Covid-19 were detected among athletes from the home team. The Ligue 1 decision was known this Tuesday, guarantees the newspaper L’Equipe.

Portuguese coach André Villas-Boas’s team should host the first game of the new season.
