The reason is related to the fight against Covid-19.
In a scenario of huge contraction in international trade due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus, a single country managed to increase the value of its exports to Portugal in March, April and May.
The conclusion is visible in the international trade statistics released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE) that reveal that among the main international partners “only China registered an increase” in imports.
In other words, doing the math, plus 4% in the months of March, April and May, a figure that rises to 5.1% in the last month under analysis – the first after the state of emergency and the beginning of the deflation process.
