Brazil recorded 1,220 deaths and 42,619 cases of the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to information released on Thursday by the country’s Ministry of Health.
Altogether, the largest country in South America now has 69,184 deaths and 1,755,779 confirmed cases of covid-19. The disease was officially detected for the first time in the country on 26 February, in the Chinese city of Wuhan.
The Brazilian Government said that there are 632,552 infected people being monitored and another 1,054,043 are already considered recovered from covid-19.
