The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China said on Wednesday that the relevant departments have contacted Angola about their request for debt relief
China hopes that other countries will also help Africa assess its debt requirements, said Zhao Lijian, a ministry spokesman, in a press conference.
The Angolan Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday that the country had asked for G20 debt relief and was in advanced stages of negotiations with some oil-importing countries to adjust financing facilities.
