Cape Verdean President José Maria Neves visited Porto this Monday as part of his “Presidency in the Diaspora” tour in Portugal. He praised the local Cape Verdean community for being well-integrated and contributing to the strong, cooperative ties between the two nations.
During a press conference at Porto City Hall, President Neves expressed satisfaction with the warm welcome his compatriots receive in the city. He noted that this successful integration is vital for solidifying the existing relationship of friendship and cooperation between Cape Verde and Porto.
Porto Mayor Pedro Duarte echoed these sentiments, describing the integration of the Cape Verdean community in the city as “absolutely exemplary.” He highlighted that Porto prides itself on being an open, cosmopolitan city that thrives by embracing diverse cultures and fostering mutual benefit.
