Federer surpasses football stars and is the highest paid in the world
Swiss became the first tennis player to reach the top of the Forbes list of the highest paid athletes in the world, counting the last 12 months. He left behind rivals of the caliber of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and LeBron James.
Federer added earnings of $ 106.3 million, excluding tax. It is equivalent to R $ 563 million at the current exchange rate. Messi, second in the list, obtained US $ 105 million, and is followed by Ronaldo (US $ 104 million), Neymar (US $ 95.5 million) and LeBron (US $ 88.2 million). The second tennis player in the relationship is Serbian Novak Djokovic, currently number 1 in the world and only 23rd for Forbes, with gains of US $ 44.6 million.
The difference between Federer and the other tennis players on the list increases gradually. Spaniard Rafael Nadal, winner of two of the last four Grand Slams, ranks 27th with $ 40 million. After him, come two women: the Japanese Naomi Osaka (29th place overall, with US $ 37.4 million) and the American Serena Williams (33rd, with US $ 36 million).
