From the moment they enter the online medical office, students have 20 minutes to solve the clinical case.
With presence teaching classes suspended, medical students were left without training classes in hospitals. To test knowledge, there is an online platform – Body Interact – available to all medical students that helps them understand how to treat a patient with Covid-19.
A professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra, and one of the coordinators of clinical cases, Tiago Alfaro, explain that on the platform “a virtual patient appears, with whom we can talk, auscultate the heart, and request tests. Then, “we place the diagnosis hypotheses” and, in the end, students have to administer “the first treatments” that can stabilize the patient, “since there are no approved treatments for Covid-19”, he explains.
