Chinese Federation recommends salary cuts of up to 50% for footballers and coaches

The organization recommends cuts, calling for dialogue between players and clubs, with a retroactive date to March 1, and the intention covers foreign players, leaving out all those with lower incomes.

The president of the Chinese football federation has admitted wage cuts of between 30% and 50% to players and coaches, in order to help clubs in the face of lost revenues from the new coronavirus pandemic.

“Covid-19 had a major impact on the football industry. Championships at various levels were forced to postpone the 2020 season, which had an influence on the normal functioning of clubs. With little revenue and high costs,” justifies the statement from Federation.
