What changes in restaurants: masks, fewer seats and markings

DGS has released a set of measures to be applied in the restoration to ensure the safety of employees and customers.

In a guideline for food and beverage establishments released this Friday, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) establishes that companies must reduce the maximum capacity of the establishment, to ensure the recommended physical distance between people. Thus, “the arrangement of tables and chairs must guarantee a distance of at least two meters” between customers, being that they “can sit facing each other or side by side, at a lower distance”.

DGS also recommends that the use of outdoor areas and the take-away service be privileged and that, whenever possible, prior booking be encouraged to reserve seats. On the other hand, standing and self-service models, such as buffets, are not recommended.
