“Support measures didn´t arrive yet.”

Afonso Camões, administrator of the Global Media Group, was received in Belém as part of the round of meetings with the media groups promoted by the PR.

The media support measures announced by the Government in April have not yet reached the companies, nor does the media know yet what criteria are the criteria for sharing the amount of 15 million euros of institutional advertising that the state will buy to mitigate the effects of the pandemic, said Afonso Camões, administrator of the Global Media Group, as he left the meeting with the President of the Republic in the context of meetings that Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has been promoting with the groups national media. “And we fear that the distribution criteria ignore the fact that some of the Portuguese still rely on paper information,” he said.

“We asked the Government when the support measures announced several weeks ago arrive. They’re not here yet. Not only have they not arrived, but we know how these measures (will apply). The measures were announced, did not arrive, we do not even know the criteria of distribution”, said Afonso Camões, administrator of the group that has the owner of Dinheiro Vivo, Jornal de Notícias, Diário de Notícias or TSF. “And we fear that the distribution criteria ignore the fact that some of the Portuguese still rely on paper information.”
