Macau has no imported cases of Covid-19 for last 31 days
The most recent case of Covid-19 diagnosed in Macau occurred 20 days ago and for 31 consecutive days, there has been no new imported cases, said on Tuesday the assistant physician of the board of the Centro Hospitalar Conde de São Januário, the public hospital in the territory.
Lo Iek Long also said that Macau has a total of 45 diagnosed cases, of which 43 were imported cases and two related to imported cases, and there is no record or occurrence of community transmission in Macau.
There was a total of 44 cases classified as having slight symptoms and one serious case, and the state of health of this latter case continues to improve. No deaths have so far been recorded.
Of the total of 45 patients diagnosed in Macau, 33 patients have recovered and have been discharged from the hospital, there are still 12 hospitalised patients, all with slight symptoms, in good condition, without breathing difficulties and not requiring oxygen.
The doctor said that the Government of Macao is well prepared for the resumption of the normal functioning of society, and plans to extend nucleic acid testing to some groups of people such as fishermen, social workers, or in indoor establishments with large groups of people, such as care homes, prisons and hospitals.
