Protest image in Sudan wins World Press Photo

The image of a young man illuminated by cell phone lights while reciting poetry, among the crowd of protesters in favor of a civilian government in Sudan, won the World Press Photo international photography prize.

The author of the image distinguished with the grand prize is the Japanese Yasuyoshi Chiba, photo editor for the French news agency AFP in the East Africa and Indian Ocean region.
