US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that the ceasefire with Iran is officially over, launching a sharp verbal attack against the country’s leadership.
“As far as I’m concerned, it’s over,” Trump told reporters on the sidelines of the NATO summit concluding today in Ankara, Turkey.
The US President stated that he “doesn’t want to deal with those people anymore,” labeling Iranian leaders as “scum,” “liars,” and “violent, cruel people who, if they had a nuclear weapon, would use it.”

Global oil markets reacted immediately to the escalating geopolitical tensions. The price of Brent crude, the international benchmark, jumped 5.92% to surpass $78.50 per barrel shortly after the announcement.
Around 09:45 in Lisbon, Brent North Sea crude was trading at $78.55, marking an increase of $4.39 from the previous day’s close. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for August delivery, the US benchmark, surged 5.32% to reach $74.19 per barrel.
