The Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin has launched a recruitment drive targeting Macau permanent residents, intending to encourage greater participation by young residents in the management and services of the cooperation zone, according to the Macao Daily News. Applications opened this Wednesday (May 20) and will remain open until May 29.
In total, there are 50 openings for the position of junior administrative specialist, covering areas such as administration and legal affairs, development and statistics, financial management, industrial development, social affairs, commercial services, urban planning, talent development, and social security.
Most positions do not require professional experience and are also open to recent graduates. The openings are intended for candidates with degrees in fields such as law, economics, finance, and management, although some positions do not have specific academic requirements, according to information released and cited by the newspaper.
The annual compensation package can reach 330,000 yuan (41,730 euros), of which approximately 240,000 yuan (30,349 euros) will be paid directly to the employee. In addition to this amount, there is a housing fund of approximately 60,000 yuan (7,587 euros), available under certain conditions. Employees will also be entitled to 22 days of paid annual leave, social insurance, a supplementary pension fund, and other social benefits, the Macao Daily also reports.

The selection process includes a review of resumes, a written test, an interview, a medical examination, and a background check, with the aim of comprehensively assessing the candidates’ qualifications.
One of the new features of this recruitment process is the preference given to candidates who have passed Macau’s “Integrated Competency Assessment Examination.” Candidates who have passed this exam will receive additional points during the resume screening phase, in an effort to align Hengqin’s recruitment system with Macau’s civil service evaluation model.
Applications may be submitted through the Cooperation Zone Executive Committee’s online recruitment portal by 6:00 p.m. on May 29. Interested parties may consult the official announcement and the FAQ section available on the platform.
In a statement cited by Macao Daily, the administrative authorities of the Cooperation Zone argued that the “Macao + Hengqin” model is becoming “a new example of the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ principle,” while also serving as a strategic platform for integration into the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and for the country’s opening up to the outside world.
The same organization also emphasized that Hengqin offers specific advantages to Macau residents, including streamlined cross-border travel, preferential policies, and professional development opportunities, and called on more young Macao talent to participate in shaping the future of cooperation between Macau and Hengqin.
