The two countries “have reached an agreement on the reciprocal exemption of visas for their citizens for trips of up to 30 days,” according to the statement.

The measure is valid until December 31 for travel between the two countries for the following purposes: tourism, business, artistic, cultural, recreational, and sporting activities, as well as visits to family members and participation in conferences, congresses, or meetings.

With this exemption, the Brazilian government said, the country expects a “significant increase in the number of Chinese tourists.” The initiative, the statement added, represents “another step toward strengthening bilateral relations” and is expected to help expand tourism and business flows between Brazil and China.

In 2025, the South American giant set a historic record for the number of foreign tourists, with 9.28 million foreign travelers entering Brazil, according to the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
