Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang addressed the Milken Global Conference 2026 in Los Angeles on Monday, asserting that Artificial Intelligence is currently “creating a massive number of jobs.”
Leading the company at the forefront of the AI chip industry, Huang highlighted that AI firms are “hiring like crazy” across sectors such as software engineering, data center construction, and semiconductor manufacturing.
He pointed to the record-breaking $100 billion invested in AI startups last year as a primary driver for this employment surge, noting that such capital translates directly into new positions.
Beyond direct hiring, Huang framed AI as a pivotal tool for global reindustrialization and the modernization of energy grids.

Despite his optimism, he acknowledged the growing public anxiety regarding job displacement and warned that fear could hinder the technology’s adoption. While admitting that all jobs will be affected and some roles eliminated, he emphasized that new opportunities would outweigh the losses.
He specifically noted that current graduates must develop AI competencies to remain competitive in an evolving labor market.
Addressing safety and ethics, Huang called for industry responsibility and sector-specific regulation. He argued that AI applications in healthcare should be regulated like medical instruments and suggested that autonomous vehicles should effectively require a “driver’s license.”
He explicitly rejected the classic Silicon Valley mantra of “move fast and break things,” proposing instead that the industry should “move quickly, but not break things.” Huang concluded by dismissing existential warnings from some scientists, stating that many brilliant minds are actively working to prevent disaster scenarios and ensure AI remains a safe, productive tool.
