A Sunday evening gathering near Arcadia Lake in Edmond, Oklahoma, turned into a scene of chaos after gunfire erupted, leaving at least 10 people wounded. The incident occurred at approximately 21:00 local time in an area roughly 13 miles north of Oklahoma City where a large group of young people had congregated.
According to Edmond Police spokesperson Emily Ward, emergency responders transported 10 victims to local hospitals in varying conditions, while several other individuals reportedly drove themselves to medical facilities for treatment. While the investigation remains active and no suspects are currently in custody, law enforcement officials stated they do not believe there is a lingering threat to the community.
Integris Health facilities in both Oklahoma City and Edmond received the majority of the patients, who were still undergoing medical assessments late Sunday night. The gathering appears to have been linked to an event advertised on social media as “Sunday Funday.”

In the wake of the violence, authorities established a reunification site at a local Walmart to assist families searching for loved ones. Reflecting on the scale of the emergency response, the BBC reported that “Edmond police said on X that the total number of victims is expected to change” as investigators continue to process the scene and account for those who sought private medical care.
Arcadia Lake is a well-known regional destination for camping and outdoor recreation, making the sudden outburst of violence particularly shocking for the local community. Police are currently urging anyone with information or video footage of the event to come forward as they work to identify those responsible.
