US President Donald Trump has warned he could impose tariffs of up to 50% on goods from China if Beijing provides military assistance to Iran amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
“If they are caught doing that, they will face tariffs of 50%, which is enormous,” Trump said in an interview with Fox News, following reports by CNN suggesting China could supply Iran with air defense systems.

The warning adds further tension to already strained relations between Washington and Beijing, particularly as global geopolitical risks continue to rise due to the conflict involving Iran.
Trump is expected to travel to Beijing on May 14–15 for a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The visit comes after a previously planned summit was postponed due to the war with Iran.
