Iranian authorities have urged citizens to form “human chains” in front of the country’s energy facilities in response to a US ultimatum.

Alireza Rahimi, Iran’s Vice Minister of Sports and Youth and Secretary of the Supreme Youth and Adolescence Council, called on young people, cultural figures, and artists to join the initiative.

Through social media, Rahimi stated that the human chain started at 14:00 local time (11:30 Lisbon time).

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump reiterated his ultimatum to Tehran on Monday, demanding that the Islamic regime reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump also threatened that the entire country “could be wiped out overnight,” referring to attacks on “all bridges” and “all nuclear facilities.”

These threats mark an escalation in US rhetoric against Iran if the country does not comply with demands that Tehran has described as unreasonable and excessive.
