Portugal defeated the United States 2-0 on Tuesday in a friendly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026, marking the 700th match in Portugal’s football history.
Coach Roberto Martínez saw Francisco Trincão score the opener at the 37th minute, with João Félix adding a second goal at 59 minutes.

This was Portugal’s final friendly before the release of the official World Cup squad. Portugal will play in Group K alongside Uzbekistan, Colombia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with the tournament kicking off on June 11. Their first match will be against the Congo on June 17.
