The Portugal under-21 national football team secured a 4-0 victory over Azerbaijan in a Group B qualifier for the 2027 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
In Baku, goals from Gonçalo Moreira, Tiago Parente, Youssef Chermiti, and João Simões ensured Portugal’s fifth consecutive win, keeping them top of the group with 16 points—six points ahead of the Czech Republic, who face Scotland, Portugal’s next opponent, on Tuesday, March 31.

The nine group winners and the best second-placed team (excluding results against the sixth-placed team) will qualify for the final stage to be held in Serbia and Albania in 2027, while the remaining second-placed teams proceed to a play-off.
