Spain will release €1 billion in “bilateral military support to Ukraine” this year, Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez announced today at the end of a meeting with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky in Madrid.
The two countries signed several cooperation agreements including projects for the “joint manufacture” of military materials by their respective defence industries. Sánchez guaranteed Zelensky that Spain will continue to unconditionally support Ukraine, both in defending against Russia’s attack and in Ukraine’s EU accession bid.
