Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has secured three major human resources awards in 2026, highlighting the company’s sustained investment in talent development and integrated resort leadership.

The group’s Training & Development department was named Team of the Year – Hospitality & Leisure at the Hong Kong Business Management Excellence Awards, making GEG the only winner in the category from Macao this year.

This recognition follows two awards at the 5th National Human Resources Innovation Competition, where GEG received accolades for Best Talent Development Brand – Leading Brand and Best Innovative HR Practice – Leading Brand for the “Experience Macao with GEG – Nurturing Talents through Cultural and Tourism Excellence” case study.

The programme, launched with the Macao University of Tourism, blends academic expertise and corporate practice to deepen team members’ understanding of community tourism and cultural heritage.

Mr. Bill Lu, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Administration of GEG, accepted the Team of the Year award in Hong Kong on behalf of GEG. Throughout the years, GEG builds structured induction training, systematic service concept courses, and cross-departmental development platforms to create career pathways.

Previously, GEG received two accolades at the “5th National Human Resources Innovation Competition”, organized by the Human Resources Management Committee of the China Chamber of International Commerce and HRLead, including the “Best Talent Development Brand – Leading Brand” for its diversified and innovative talent training program, and the “Best Innovative HR Innovation practice – Leading Brand” for the “Experience Macao with GEG – Nurturing Talents through Cultural and Tourism Excellence” case study.

To date, more than 4,000 GEG team members have attained professional certifications through courses including Forbes hospitality training, reinforcing service competencies that have helped the group achieve multiple international recognitions such as Forbes Travel Guide and Michelin Guide mentions.

Last year GEG invested extensively in learning and development, delivering more than 1 million training hours across disciplines to strengthen professional capabilities and expand career mobility.

The company positions its talent strategy around vertical and lateral growth, continuous education and professional qualifications, and targeted initiatives that prepare the next generation of integrated resort leaders.

The awards add third-party validation to GEG’s long-term workforce strategy and serve practical purposes: they enhance employer branding, improve talent attraction and retention, and support Macau’s ambition to develop a high-quality tourism and leisure talent pool.

Looking ahead, GEG plans to continue advancing professional training and cross-disciplinary programmes to cultivate industry professionals who can contribute to Macau’s vision as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.
