Cape Verde’s prime minister said today at the launch of the new state brand Cvsky — which separates inter-island from international operations — that the priority for domestic flights is to stabilise the operation.
The domestic operation “is fundamental for territorial cohesion, for the right to mobility and for the economy: after the company’s creation, the great challenge is to stabilise and then grow,” said Ulisses Correia e Silva at the event in Praia. “There is a domestic market with unmet demand. There are people who want to travel but face problems with availability of seats and regularity. This market exists and needs quality. We also have a great deal of tourism pressure,” he added.
Board chairman Manuel Lima said the objective is to build a “solid, reliable and sustainable company” capable of ensuring a regular inter-island service, with priorities including “strengthening regularity and reliability” and “gradual and sustainable fleet expansion.”

Cvsky is the brand of the new state company Linhas Aéreas de Cabo Verde (LACV), which has two ATR 72-600 aircraft and sells tickets online at www.cvsky.cv. International flights will continue to be operated by the other state company, Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde (TACV), which had temporarily taken on domestic routes alongside international ones since 2024 following problems with the previous concession.
Aircraft and passenger movements at Cape Verde’s airports grew 16% in 2025, with domestic traffic recording the largest percentage increase — up 34%, surpassing 820,000 passenger movements and representing nearly a quarter of the total, according to official data from the Civil Aviation Agency.
