Italian driver Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) won the Chinese Grand Prix today, the second round of the season, becoming one of the youngest winners in the history of the sport.
At 19 years and 202 days old, Antonelli beat teammate George Russell (Mercedes) by 5.515 seconds, with Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) third at 25.267 seconds, in a race that saw champion Lando Norris (McLaren) and former champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull) both retire with mechanical problems.
With these results, George Russell retains the championship lead with 51 points, four ahead of Antonelli, who is now the second youngest grand prix winner in history, behind only Max Verstappen.
