Jens-Frederik Nielsen said on Sunday that the autonomous territory of Denmark is not interested in receiving a U.S. hospital ship that U.S. President Donald Trump wants to send to the island.

Nielsen said Greenland is always open to dialogue and cooperation, including with the United States, but urged the U.S. side to talk with Greenland “instead of” making what he described as more or less random outbursts on social media.

Trump wrote on Truth Social platform on Saturday that he was working with Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry to send “a great hospital boat” to Greenland “to take care of” people who are “sick.”
