Property sector urges subsidies for migrant workers in labour law overhaul

Government subsidies for expectant employees ought to extend to non-resident workers who make up a large chunk of Macau’s workforce, according to Paul Tse, president of the Property Management Business Association Macao.

His call for a subsidy extension, comes as the government is seeking advice from society over proposed amendments to the existing labour relations law.

These changes, slated to reach the Legislative Assembly for a vote later this year, propose a lifting of maternity leave from 70 days to 90 days, alongside a rise in annual leave every two years up to a maximum of 12 days.
